Help Us Get A Place To Live

As most of you know, Hurricane Laura tore through Southwest Louisiana on August 27, 2020 and decimated the area. Our house was on piers, because we live in a flood zone. It was blown off of the piers, which then went through the floors of the house.  We were in the process of getting the usable furniture and clothing out of the house when Hurricane Delta came to visit on October 9, 2020. Since the house was no longer on piers, everything that was in it was destroyed by the waters of Delta.
We were unable to get insurance because of the restrictions of our neighborhood. (In short, the parish has the house listed as a house while all insurance companies consider it a trailer/double-wide. It’s been a fight with FEMA for the same reason, hence the reason for this GFM.
The $2,500 is to help us get in to a place to live temporarily (unless we find a place to buy that doesn’t require a 10% down payment) until we can purchase a house and to replace some of the clothing and other household needs.
If you can’t donate, we’d appreciate all the prayers and shares.
