Do you want to join us in making a difference? We're raising money in aid of Brixton Chamber Orchestra and every donation will help.
- On 30th July 2021 Brixton Chamber Orchestra collaborated with renowned South London street artist PiNS to create a live canvas painting during an orchestral performance at Stockwell Park's Hall of Fame.
- The piece titled "No Plan, Just Blam" was inspired by circumstance and its surroundings. The piece has been temporarily stored in the window of The Department Store, Brixton, but it needs a new home.
- PiNS' work regularly goes for upwards of £10,000 and he has kindly donated the piece to BCO to raise some much needed funds.
- Brixton Chamber Orchestra's goal is to raise a minimum of £5000 to support future community work in Lambeth, and give the canvas a permanent home at Stockwell Park's Community Centre - as a piece of history to mark the first collaboration of its kind.
Brixton Chamber Orchestra is a registered charity with 4 core aims:
- to reach new audiences with live orchestral music by presenting it in new ways and places;
- to provide a performance and training platform for musicians from Brixton;
- to innovate new orchestral experiences through diverse collaborations;
- to embed in the community and be an orchestra of and for Brixton.
We hope to raise the funds in time for Christmas and for the canvas to be re-homed at the beginning of the new year. Brixton Chamber Orchestra embark on their Christmas Estates Tour this December 9th - 19th performing on 12 local housing estates in Lambeth, bringing festive cheer and live orchestrated music of all genres to the community, all for free.
