The outpouring of love for Dagmar in the last month has been amazing. As many of you may now know, Dagmar's health declined rapidly at the end of last year. Her incredibly dedicated staff made sure that no one in town went without strudel and schnitzel!

In true Dagmar fashion, she worked hard on recovery, came home and was making amazing progress with PT before an internal complication abruptly took her from us on Saturday. None of us were prepared, including Dagmar. And because of that unexpectedness we are unable to access any of her assets for a couple of months.

Also, a bakery, no matter how successful, is a business that depends entirely on cash flow and has limited resources for tragedy like this.

The desired plan is for Dagmar's legacy to continue under her talented mother, Ingeborg's guiding hand, and in Mr. Anthony's skillful care, but in the meantime we really need to take care of Dagmar's employees (and keep the rent/utilities paid, as well).

We are planning a public Celebration of her Life (hopefully at the bakery!) in October, and hope you will all join us!

At the moment, though, everyone keeps asking what they can do to help.

At this time, there is nothing much that is needed by the family, except time to be together and grieve.

After some thought this weekend we would like to ask you to please consider gifting the bakery just what you might have usually spent at Dagmar's this month to help us take care of her amazing employees and cover the overhead obligations over the next few weeks until we are able to reopen.

Dagmar loved you all so much. Please remember her with love and join us in October to celebrate her amazing life!
