Hi Everyone!! So, someone asked me if I ever thought about starting a Go Fund Me Page. I didn't know what it was all about until I decided to check it out and thought it would be a great way for people to lend a hand to me and my family during my jourey to wellness!
As you all may or may not know, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma on March 19th, 2014. As a result of this diagnosis, my doctors have decided that the best chance for me to beat this cancer is to undergo an Allogenic Stem Cell Transplant. The basic definition of this transplant is that I will be using a donor's stem cells to create a brand new immune system for my body, which will then be able to recognize any new occurence of lymphoma and eliminate it immediately. This procedure requires a great deal of recovery time, and will also require the assistance of my many caregivers for an extended period of time. I have a 107 day recovery period ahead of me that requires someone with me 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This means, that caregivers like my husband will have to spend more time at home with me, and less time at the job, which coud potentially put us in a financial quagmire :-)
So, I got to thinking, since my diagnosis, I have had many people reach out to me and ask me if their is anything I need, or anything they can do to help me and my family. Well, we all know that sickness is not cheap! Even though we have medical insurance and paychecks do their part, there is always the need for extra help when a sudden bill comes along, or a perscription needs to be paid, or something unexpected pops up along the way. Sometimes it gets a little difficult to make ends meet. With that, I created this website for anyone that would like to contribute to my journey financially. Anything, and I mean ANYTHING is greatly appreciated. I have learned going through this journey, that closed mouths do not get fed, so who knows who may be sitting out there waiting to bless me and my family! I love you all very much and thank you for visiting my page!!
