On June 25th Chelsea Englert presented to the doctor with left leg pain. She was admitted with blood clots to the left leg. CT scan revealed that bloods clots also moved to her lungs. On June 26th she was life flighted to Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She underwent a procedure called EKOS to break up the clots in her lungs. Two days later tried to perform same procedure to remove the massive clot in her left leg. However, it was not successful. The next day they performed EKOS behind her left knee into the popliteal to break up clot which was successful. She received physical therapy and a walker for this leg due to the trauma it has received. She was diagnosed with lupus anticoagulant and will be taking blood thinners to control future blood clots. Her hemoglobin on admission was low and after testing she was diagnosed with pernicious anemia. She had a 13 day hospital stay. After being home for one day she went back to the ER and was transported by ambulance back to Jewish Hospital with pain in the rib area. She had a thoracentesis to remove fluid off lung. More testing is being performed, she is still at Jewish Hospital.
