In Memory of Missi Patterson

Donation protected
By now, we’re all aware that on 29 June 2014, our friend and brother, Troy Patterson, suffered the heartbreaking loss of his beloved wife, Missi. If you were fortunate enough to have known her, then you were, no doubt, touched by what a genuinely wonderful person she was: caring, intelligent, fun, devoted, and a whole host of other, more endearing, adjectives that don’t even come close to adequately describing the true gift the world lost on that very sad day. What has made her passing all the more tragic is feeling the impact of that loss through Troy’s own profound grief. Here’s a man who, through the years, has strived to bring happiness to the lives of those around him and dedicated himself to revealing the best in all of us. He has also proudly and selflessly served our country without complaint and at great personal sacrifice for over 20 years. It’s unfair that someone so remarkable should ever hurt so deeply. That someone so amazing could actually have a “better half” is a testament to the person that was Missi.
While nothing can ever fill the void left in Troy’s life, many of us felt that we would be remiss in failing to offer some show of support to commemorate his loss. To give back to him in some small way for the countless treasured memories he’s helped us create over the years, and for his service to us all. Though nothing will erase his pain, we wanted to at least ease the weight of the struggles he faces moving forward as he adjusts to life without Missi.
The passing of a loved one takes its toll on the lives of those left behind in many different ways. To help alleviate some of Troy’s burden, we’re asking for donations to offset some of the financial strain he might face in the wake of Missi’s prolonged illness. At this time, Troy doesn’t know about this effort, and we’re asking that it remain so for the foreseeable future. This is an independent undertaking to reach out to those who love him in the hopes of… just doing something good for someone great. Donations can be anonymous. Certainly, any amount is welcome and appreciated. Our hope is merely to show him that his loved ones do share his pain, and that we are, and will continue to be, here for him to help him move forward.
     Thank you for your support.
