BBB Supports Social Mobility Foundation

The Social Mobility Foundation (SMF) is a charity which aims to make a practical improvement in social mobility for young people.

The SMF was founded in 2005 in order to provide opportunities, and networks of support for 16-17 year olds who are unable to get them from their schools or families.

In the years that have followed their students have experienced great success graduating from university into the professional world with many returning to support younger years.

They now work with young people from all across the UK in the years prior to and during university, and their Aspiring Professionals Programme offers tailored support across 11 career sectors: Accountancy, Architecture, Banking & Finance, Biology & Chemistry, Business, Digital, Engineering & Physics, Law, Media & Communications, Medicine, and Politics.

The Aspiring Professionals Programme (APP) is carefully designed to open up professions for those with the ability to join them in the future, but without the means or networks to get there.

They aim to give young people a real insight into top professions and to provide them with the skills needed to achieve their aspirations.
