For almost 2 months now, I've been living with an EXTREMELY painful and rare medical issue (rectal fistula)... with less than 200,000 cases per year in the US. About 3 weeks ago was when the pain got UNBEARABLE, I was informed that my issue required surgery to remove it or else I would be at risk of getting septic poisoning... or worse. I'm on antibiotics right now though - so I'm safe for the mean time...
And due to it happening so suddenly and me not having health insurance, all of my recent doctor visits have been paid out of pocket, leaving me struggling. As 2 weeks ago, I'm no longer working due to the immense and constant pain and all the money I had been saving over the last 6 months has disappeared, with me paying for consultations, visits, medications, etc. I've gone through several institutions in search of any possible assistance I can get, but to no avail. I've either been denied, I don't qualify, or I can't afford the down payment for it due to not having the funds available and the prices being so high based on my bad credit or whatever.
The surgeon I've been consulting with these past few weeks has graciously cut his fee in half for me, bringing it down to $1250 (separate from the hospital bill) but it's a fee that I need to pay upfront, before the surgery, and it's something I can't afford any time soon - and I need this surgery asap...
The name of the procedure I require is a fistulotomy... the hospital has quoted me a price of about $14K+ for the procedure, not including the surgeon's separate fee. In order for me to be allowed to set a date for it though, I need to put down at least $5K upfront, again, not including the surgeon's separate fee...
In conclusion, I need about $6500 just to book an SURGERY DATE... I'm not asking for help covering the entire cost of the surgery, I know I can try to work out some kind of payment plan, however, I desperately need help with the down payment...

Fistulotomy:
In a fistulotomy the surgeon first probes to find the fistula's internal opening. Then the tract is cut open and is scraped and its contents are flushed out, then its sides are stitch to the sides of the incision in order to lay open the fistula. The surgery may be performed in more than one stage if a large amount of muscle must be cut. The surgery may need to be repeated if the entire tract can't be found.
