Rose & Rasa Hurricane Recovery Fund

As all of you know, just over a week ago, Hurricane Maria tore through and ravaged the island of Puerto Rico, leaving behind devastation and wreckage in its path. Along with their three dogs, my mom and brother live in Rincon, Puerto Rico and were unfortunately on the island when the storm hit. I am extremely relieved and grateful that the house and everyone in it were okay, but my family is still there now, trying to make it through an increasingly challenging situation with limited resources. They are rationing what food, water, and gas they have left.

From news updates today:
-There is still no power on the island, with the exception of gas-run generators with limited fuel. (that means no A/C on a tropical island in Summer and no power to pump water into homes for bathing and flushing toilets)
-44% of Puerto Rico's 3.4 million residents remain without drinking water
-the storm knocked out 1,360 out 1,600 cellphone towers on the island, so if there is aid nearby, many have no way of knowing

After days full of panic and trying to figure out the best plan of getting my family safe and off the island, we booked flights for my mom and brother to fly out on Sunday (9/30). They have enough gas in their tank to make a trip to the nearest airport, so I am praying that their flight takes off as scheduled, knowing that there are only a few, fully-booked flights going out each day. I haven't been able to talk to them yet, but my sister got ahold of my mom for a minute, off a satellite phone, just long enough to give her their flight information. Unfortunately, the two of them will have to leave the three dogs behind (hopefully to somehow be sent to us at a later date).

The reason I am making this page is because anyone that knows my mom, knows that she is extremely generous and caring, and often puts others' needs before her own, sometimes to a fault. I know this because she has done this for me on numerous occasions, as a single mother of three, when I have needed help.
My mom is a Yoga/Pilates instructor that has worked hard to build up her clientele in the small town of Rincon, over the last few years. Businesses in this small town thrive on the visitors that flood in during the Winter months, but they also struggle during the summer months when tourism is extremely low. With the recent devastation and destruction of Rincon, my mom won't be getting these Winter months of good business and income.
My mom and teenage brother will only be able to bring what they can carry on the plane, and will have to leave behind most of their belongings and life, along with the three dogs. My brother still needs to finish high school, and my mom will need to put down roots here for them, which will include a car, renting a home, and starting a new job. Being that my sister and I are fresh out of school and paying back student loans and life in general, we just don't have the means to help them as much as we really want to. My uncle and aunt have been amazing, and will be taking in the two of them to stay for a while and helping them get on their feet. I am immensely grateful for their generosity in this time of need.

My goal of making this fund is to lift some of the burden off of my aunt, uncle, sister, mom and brother. I have received numerous texts and calls from people asking what they can do to help, so here it is:
Any contribution you want to make is so extremely appreciated!!!
