Baywatchers Academy

Donation protected
Swimmers with down syndrome, autism and cerebral palsy disorders manifest therapeutic and physical breakthroughs that benefit our society. While we relate in balancing work and family dynamics, however, they relate in depending on this balance. Tropical Miami Civitan Club is inviting you to earn your local nonprofit stripes to help rehabilitate and train the BayWatchers Academy during the 2017 swimming season.

For the BayWatchers, our program is free and is a result of many generous acts from friends and a couple of dreamers.

Today, athletes that qualify as Special Olympians and US Masters Top 10 award members are provided training from certified coaches.

As a supporter of an athletic special needs program, your donations create quality control in our certified coaching requirements and keep us afloat. Most of the costs associated with Learn to Swim programs include coaching and facility costs.

We have received a lot of positive feedback from people of therapeutic backgrounds that are cheering on the continuation of our swim program.
They agree that in spreading our academy’s benefits, we can target bodily motor skills in the water to enhance the mobility impaired by Cerebral Palsy.

To chart the course for the BayWatchers and help continue an athletic powerhouse in special needs you may support our program below.

We envision and believe that our experience with over 50 swimmers may serve as the safest environment for the next wave of autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy and is gestured by our performance.

As Special Olympians we know that the physical benefits to the sport of swimming are only matched by its social exposure.

Our top athlete holds American and World Records in the 1,500-meter freestyle, the 100 and 200-meter butterfly within the Down Syndrome International Swimming Organization. Our Masters group also holds several records that allow the athletes to be exposed to world class competitors and facilities.

Our talent is tested at locations such as Our Pride Academy, Aramark-Panther Dining (FIU), Publix, Walgreens, City of Doral, Puerto Madero (restaurant) and Miami Children's Hospital where you may have seen more of our athletes at work.

Donating to the Baywatchers Academy means providing spectrum specific swim-instructors to new and younger athletes, as well as access to special abilities swimming facilities in Miami.

Competitiveness within ourselves is redefined the moment we elevate our spectators onto the world stage. The BayWatchers are unique and respected in competition. They have changed the lives of many special ability swimmers in a direction they never dreamed of and vow to provide this structure to the next generation of BayWatchers.
