Help for the Bays' Family

Update (July 2017)

In light of the following heartbreaking message from Shaun's wife, Betsy, we have created this page to help with funeral expenses and to support this young family. Any help that you could give we know would be greatly appreciated.

"It is with heavy heart that I inform you that Shaun passed away unexpectedly on July 27th, 2017. He was a warrior and fought bravely every step of the way with a faith and positive outlook that was truly an inspiration. I am so proud of him. He did everything right and seemed so close to complete healing while on this earth, but in the end, it was too much for his body and his heart gave out without warning. There wasn't anything that could've been done differently; it was just his time. Conventional medicine had given up on him a long time ago and offered him no hope of healing, so he boldly chose to take the only path that was open to him. While it's not how we expected, he finally has his complete healing and is at peace at last with no more pain and two healthy legs. He wouldn't want you to cry for him, but rather celebrate that he finally got what he worked so hard for. God has him now, and he's in a much better place. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I couldn't have asked for a better husband or father to my kids. There will never be anyone quite like him. While my heart aches with the void he left behind, and I may not understand why this happened, I know that God knows best and that He won't give us more than we can handle. We can trust in that fact. I know Shaun would want me to thank all of you that have helped support us in this journey. We're thankful for each and every one of you. Thank you for being a part of our lives and thank you for helping Shaun live life on his terms with no regrets these past 16 months. God bless you all!"

Shaun's Story (March 2016)

"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." ~Galatians 6:2

Shaun Bays, a Christian and member of the Eubank Church of Christ in Eubank, KY, has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Myxoid Liposarcoma.

He has been married to Betsy (Robins) for almost 12 years. He is the father to Chloey (age 8) and Caleb (age 6).

In order to undergo extensive treatments, it is possible that he may have to quit working. Betsy is a stay-at-home wife and mother, and will now be Shaun's primary caregiver.

Please find it in your heart to help this sweet family. Any amount - no matter how big or small - will help them in tremendous ways. If you are not able to give a monetary donation at this time, please be in fervent prayer for Shaun's healing, for the doctors in charge of his treatment, for strength for Betsy and the children, and for the "peace that passes understanding" (Philippians 4:7).

"...All things are possible with God." ~Mark 10:27
