Baylee’s Procedure

Meet Baylee, a fun loving, almost 1 year old, curious Golden Retriever pup. She is my brother’s pride and joy and has a 5 year old human best friend named Ryder. 

Two weeks ago Baylee got ahold of a Christmas ornament and ingested part of it- specifically, a metal wire. She began getting sick and acting lethargic.  Initial vet scans showed promise; after feeding her high fiber food, the wire from the ornament showed slight movement. Follow up scans did not show any further movement of the foreign body.

 Today **Jan 3rd, 2019** Baylee began getting sick again and my brother rushed her back to the vet. Baylee needs a surgical procedure to remove the wire.  

Her procedure comes with a hefty price tag. The original vet quoted my brother a cost between $2200 and $3700. After recommendations from my community, we found a veterinarian who can perform the procedure for $500. After seeing the initial veterinarian for multiple visits and following up with a new provider today, they are already near $500 into her care. 

I am hopeful that together we can help alleviate some of the financial strain that Baylee’s emergency care has put onto their little family. My brother is too prideful to ask for help, so I am hoping our community can come together and help him out. Ryder needs his puppy pal.
