Bay to Buoy for Farronshoneen

Hi all,

Caroline Frampton, along with her daughter and sister in law will be undertaking a sea swim in aid of Farronshoneen Youth and Community Centre, Upper Grange, Waterford on Saturday, 23rd October at 9.30am at Lawlors Beach, Dunmore East.

Caroline, a parent of two young people attending the youth project for the past five years, along with her colleague Paul Fleming from Ernst &Young who also lives in the catchment area  have  decided to organise this fundraiser to enable the Farronshoneen Youth Projects to continue their vital, meaningful work with young people aged 10-24 years living within the Dunmore Road and Williamstown Community of Waterford City.

The company in which Caroline and Paul work for- Ernst & Young has kindly offered to match the team funding up to €1,000. 

The Farronshoneen Youth and Community Centre in which the Farronshoneen Youth Centre Project and the Farronshoneen Community Youth Project resides, engages young people age 10 to 24 years, living within the Dunmore Road/Williamstown area area of Waterford City in positive, worthwhile recreational based activities and informal educational based programmes.

The projects work with the young people to identify their own needs and issues and to put appropriate responses in place.

We aim to empower and enable young people through their active consulation to develop their personal and social skills to allow them exercise greater control in their own lives.

Programmes on offer include weekly core developmental groups (divided based on age and interests), social and recreational programmes such as an Irish speaking youth group & art group, occasional special interest groups such as cooking and also seasonal programmes throughout the Easter & Summer holidays.
