Bay Area Badminton Player Fundraiser

In March 2022, a few outstanding badminton athletes qualified to represent Team USA and participate in the World University Games in Chengdu, China. These athletes hope to one day compete in the Olympic Games. World University Games is just a step in that direction, and they are currently seeking donors to raise funds to travel, train, and compete.
About the athletes:
Andre Chim – This is the first year Andre qualified for Team USA. Andre is an incoming freshman going to Purdue University. He will represent Team USA in both Team and Individual Events for XXX Pan Am Junior Championships in July and BWF World Junior Championships 2022 in Spain.
Esther Shi – Esther is a
representative of Team USA in multiple junior and adult international tournaments, including representing Team USA in this year’s Uber Cup in Bangkok, Thailand in May. She is a sophomore at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business, studying Marketing and aiming to complete her MBA in the future. She will go to Malaysia International Series 2022 in Kuala Lumpur in August.
Kalea Sheung – Since 2013, Kalea has represented the US Junior National Team every year, attending various international tournaments. She is a former US Junior Nationals Champion and placed 3rd at the US Adult Nationals for Women’s Singles and 5th for Mixed Doubles in 2018. Kalea will go to XII Santo Domingo Open 2022 in June.
Katelin Ngo – Katelin is a student-athlete who wishes to pursue a professional career in the sport of badminton. She has competed twice at World Junior Championships, representing Team USA in Team and Individual Events in Canada and Russia. Katelin also traveled and competed in world-ranked tournaments in Europe, South America, and Asia. In May, Katelin will go to Italian International 2022 in Milan and Malaysia International Series 2022 in Kuala Lumpur in August.
