Battle Colon Cancer with Sarah

Donation protected

The phrase “Aggressive Colon Cancer”, does not bring to mind a vibrant, effervescent, healthy, active woman in her mid-thirties. For many of us, that diagnosis is associated with the elderly. When my good friend Sarah Trott received this rare diagnosis shortly after her thirty-sixth birthday, she shared her difficult news with her boyfriend, family, and friends and asked for prayers and support while she started her battle with colon cancer.

This joyful, outgoing, adventurous woman, who has never met a stranger, is still in the very first stages of her cancer journey, but in typical Sarah fashion, she has met this incomprehensible diagnosis head on, with faith, hope, tenacity and her endearing sense of humor. (Cue the poop jokes). She, along with the support of her extensive tribe of family, friends, and amazing medical team, moved quickly and Sarah was in surgery within 5 days of her stage 3B Adenocarcinoma diagnosis.

After the successful bowel dissection and removal of her tumor, Sarah will be starting chemotherapy in the very near future as cancer cells are still present in her body. While she is so thankful for the life saving medical care she has received so far, she has a big fight ahead of her. She will fight this with everything she’s got so that she can get back to the important things in life… making cherished memories, collecting new friends everywhere she goes, continuing to explore our beautiful world, walking on beaches, and enjoying the great outdoors!

Many family members, friends, and colleagues have reached out to Sarah asking for a tangible and financial way to support her in her battle. She has been so humbled by this outpouring of love. She finally gave in this week to the idea of a Go-Fund Me account when the first of the medical bills arrived. The totals are staggering, and will only grow with each chemotherapy treatment.

Please consider making a donation to help with the mounting medical expenses and also to help with regular living expenses as Sarah focuses on kicking Colon Cancer in the butt.

While chemo is nothing to look forward to, Sarah is starting each day with her typical sunny optimism, snarky sense of humor, and HOPE. Sarah appreciates your prayers and support, and thanks you for your love and friendship.
