Batt-Al-ing Cancer

After months of experiencing symptoms that he thought were cause by gastric reflux, Al’s loved ones encouraged him to pursue additional testing. Never anticipating that those test would bring him to where he is at today. On September 24th 2018, Alan was officially diagnosed with colon cancer after a mass the size of an apple was identified in his transverse colon. This news means the start of his second battle against this vicious disease.  This is an aggressive cancer that needed immediate attention. Therefore on September 25th Al underwent surgery to remove the tumor. During surgery it was identified that this mass was also connected to his lower intestine therefore requiring it to be removed in addition to the mass. We are optimistic that the cancer was caught in time and should have an update from pathology and the Oncologist on the plan of action towards the end of the week, but due to the nature of this disease Al will be out of work for an unknown amount of time and the last thing we want him to worry about is finances. If you know Al, you know that you have a friend in him for the rest of your life.  Our heart breaks watching him fight this battle and there is no doubt that he has a sea full of people behind him every single step of the way.  Please keep him and his team of doctors in your prayers.
