It's our turn to give back to Batey

Terry Batey is the Senior Counselor at Prosser CA and one of the nicest people I know. He is kind, dedicated and goes above & beyond for the students.
In July 2017, with the approval and understanding he would be reimbursed for his expenses, Batey had a "Class of 2017 Trunk Party." The idea was to create an event to give back the surplus experienced in the graduation funding and celebrate the graduates post secondary achievements. At the event, the 80-100 2017 graduates who attended were provided with a book bag of school supplies, gift cards, and various attendees won prizes such as microwaves, televisions, refrigerators & trunk full of dorm room essentials.
The event was also dedicated in the memory and honor of a recent graduate who had passed away.
When the time came and Batey turned in the paperwork to be reimbursed for the expenses, he was informed that $2,000 + would not be reimbursed due to board policy. Had Batey been made aware of this at the time he received approval, he would have made purchases that met board policy.
Thus, the reason why I created the campaign to help Batey. While Batey knows the event was for a great cause and like the great person he is, was rewarded by the fact that it helped the students; Batey is a single parent with responsibilities and bills of his own. And now, through no fault of his own, has added $2,000+ to his responsibilities.
So please, join in because now "It's our turn to give back to Batey," for who he is, for all he does, and for all he continues to do.
