My name is Lauren Dolcater, and I am a junior at Darby High School. I just completed my 6th year playing basketball as a Darby Tiger, and to tell you the truth, it has been the best years of my life.
Last summer I went to the NBC basketball camp in Auburn, Washington. In addition to learning a host of new skills, making invaluable friendships, and playing in the semifinal game, I was also selected to join their international tour team in Italy this next summer. Needless to say, it's a huge honor... and certainly a dream come true.
This trip will give me the unique opportunity to make new friends, improve my basketball skills, travel to see a beautiful country, as well as play basketball against some of the best teams in Italy. Ultimately, I want to bring these new skills and experiences back to the team - and community - I love so much.
So here's where you come in.
In order for me to make this trip happen, I need to raise a whopping total of $5,200. While I certainly plan to work my butt off for this money, I will undoubtedly need the love and support of my family and friends to make this trip a reality.
