Families make up 35% of the unhoused population and the added uncertainties of COVID-19 are putting countless more at risk. Families and individuals who once kept a delicate balance of income and needs are finding themselves at a tipping point. They are making the hard choice of paying rent or buying food, of seeing a doctor or keeping the lights on.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Together as a community of donors, we can offer the security of a safe bed, a full pantry, and a warm coat. Let’s help change the lives of individuals and families in our communities.
Who benefits from your donation?
When you make a donation to the GoFundMe.org Basic Necessities Cause Fund, you help individuals access their most essential needs (shelter, food, and clothing), as well as organizations offering community outreach programs. With your generosity, we can help stock a food bank, help a family stay in stable housing, and so much more.
Am I eligible for a grant?
To qualify for a grant from the Basic Necessities Cause Fund, the GoFundMe fundraiser’s purpose must be to benefit people who need help affording basic expenses related to essential needs (shelter, food, and clothing), or an organization providing essential needs (or grants for that purpose) to a charitable class.
