We are asking all individuals who have been positively impacted by Bashir and his restaurant, Bashir's Taverna, to please consider donating to his cause during a challenging time for him and his family.
Bashir has chronic knee problems and is in need of double knee replacement. He is scheduled for surgery on October 9th. As it stands, him and his wife, Kathy, do not have sufficient funds to pay for this surgery as well as keep the restaurant operational, which is their only source of income.
Bashir will be out of work recovering from his surgery, leaving his 74 year old wife to operate the restaurant completely alone. Kathy is also in need of surgery on her hands which is not an option at this time. There is uncertainty for them as they struggle to provide for their many needs.
Bashir's is a mom and pop Downtown Mall treasure, a special taste of authentic mediterranean food coming from the hands of two people who came to America for a better life.
Kathy, born in Hungary, and Bashir, born in Algeria, are both immigrants and stand for the diversity that this country truly represents.
Despite their current hardships and their outdoor patio and signs being vandalized multiple times in the past couple of months, they continue to press on. They have always been there when others have needed help.
