Basab DuttaChowdhury is an experienced, highly talented and hard working, software engineer who has been instrumental in numerous successful projects, globally - on behalf of DPS, KMG and other companies in the past 25 years.
A very humble, soft-spoken and reserved person whose demeanor, friendliness and ever helpful attitude has endeared him to all who have come to know him - including his colleagues and business partners.
Basab lives in South Kolkata, with his small family of wife Madhumita and daughter Enakshi. Enakshi is a brilliant scholar, and a Senior in High School with ambitions to pursue higher studies in Finance and Management. Madhumita is a homemaker.
Unfortunately in 2016 Basab suffered a major health setback and has been plagued by numerous health issues since. In 2018 his condition further detoriated with total kidney failure and was forced to go on extended leave, without pay.
Basab now requires constant dialisys and other related medical treatment - several times a week. In addition he is suffers from acute short term memory loss - and other physical disabilities, which makes him unsuitable for any gainful employment.
Being the sole breadwinner, this has left his family - in dire financial crisis. His employer KMG, magnanimously offered a minor role to Madhumita, and also provides limited medical coverage . This helps defray a portion of their medical expendenditure, but the family has been woefully short in fulfilling their basic living expenses.
They have exhausted all their savings as well as liquidated most of their other assets and have accumulated significant debt, including arrears in utility bills as well as arrears in their daughters education.
The situation has lately, turned extremely critical as Basab had another stroke a month back, which has left him paralysed on his left side and is now totally immobile. He requires immediate physiotherapy to enable him to regain part or most of his mobility.
Tha family is totally unable to meet this financial demand and is appealing for help.
Based on the estimates that I have received they are desparaltely in need for around $2000, which will enable them to
• Ensure sufficient funds for Basab's physiotherapy
• Clear most of their accumulated debt
• Provide necessary funds to ensure that Enakhi's HS education continues uninterrupted.
Any help that you can provide to meet this commitment would be greatly appreciated by me and by the DuttaChouwdhurys.

While this will take care of their immediate financial needs, it is also essential that the family is once again financially independent.
It is of utmost importance that Enakshi is able to concentrate on her studies and complete HS with flying colors, so she can pursue her aspirations.
Equally important is to provide assistance to Madhumita so she can concentrate on thec training opportunity that KMG has provided so that she can quickly move up in her career and meet the families needs.
I am looking for people who would in addition be willing to a recurring fund of a total of around $250 monthly, for the next 6-12 months which will relieve them of their nagging financial worries and hope to stabilize themselves in that time. Any suggestions to that extent would be welcome.
