Studio 7 Bartlett Installation
Donation protected
We are a collective of students from the Bartlett School of Architecture, one of the world’s leading architecture faculties, recognised for its innovations and achievements in design and material technologies.
We are currently working on an installation project embracing the history of the Spitalfields area in London. This will be installed in the foyer exhibition space of the school starting in December 2017.
The kinetic, modular design of the installation is inspired by both the work of a Victorian wheelwright, George Scammell, and the famous Spitalfields market. Drawing from his creations, we have designed an inhabitable space with structures made entirely from arc sections of wooden wheels. The installation can be manipulated by visitors to create different forms reflecting the transitory nature of markets.
To bring this design to life, we kindly ask for your help! As a group, we are hoping to raise £2,000 for the materials and construction of the project.
We would be extremely grateful for your support!
The grand opening of the exhibition will take place on December 8th, 2017.
On behalf of the 15 students involved in the design and construction of this project, thank you.
