The Gorodnick Family Fundraiser

As most of you already know, Barry was unexpectedly diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in December 2010. Throughout 2011 he went through several chemo treatments.  By September he was showing signs of recovery. In November, Barry had a bone marrow transplant.  The whole procedure needed 3 months to work. Just last week, Barry was admitted to the hospital for pain.  A PET scan revealed that the initial bone marrow transplant did not work, the cancer remains and is growing.  He was at Stage 3 prior to the transplant and now is at Stage 4.  He started a new round of chemo to shrink the tumor and relieve some pain.  A second bone marrow transplant, by a donor, is being planned.

Barry is an FCPS alum, as he graduated from Robinson Secondary School.  He is currently employed at Robinson as a School Based Technology Specialist (SBTS).  He is the head coach of the Lady Ram's softball team. Barry began working at Robinson in 1988 as a P.E. teacher, and is a former Varsity Assistant Football Coach.  He has been a tremendous asset to the Robinson community as well as the local community in a variety of ways. As a coach, he has touched the lives of countless athletes of all ages over the years.  Barry is a great husband, father, and friend to us all.  Thankfully he has been surrounded by his wife Jen & their three children, who are all a huge source of strength and comfort for him.

The Gorodnick's are fighters, but their strength can not overcome the costs associated with treating cancer.  Barry and Jen have always been there for us when we needed them, now it is our turn.   Please show your support for the Gorodnick's through this difficult time.  Please donate to the Gorodnick Family Fundraiser to help them cover these medical costs and help Barry get well.
