Barry Roth’s Run

Donation protected
Barry Roth’s Run for a Cause at the 34th Annual St. Patrick’s Day 5k on March 17th, 2018 in Memory of his son, Jamie Roth.

Nearly a year ago Jamie was on the side lines cheering on his Dad, Barry Roth, for the Colorado Springs Annual St. Patrick’s Day 5k. Barry would like to continue this tradition by running in Jamie’s honor while raising funds for Jamie’s and now our favorite cause, Project Healing Waters. This organization is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled veterans through fly fishing. 100% of the funds raised will be donated to the local chapter of Project Healing waters. Your donations will help carry on Jamie’s legacy while supporting local veterans who are recovering from injuries received while serving our great nation.

Jamie found immense joy in volunteering for Project Healing Waters. His extraordinary talent as an angler, combined with his desire to help fellow veterans find peace on the water led him to Project Healing Waters. He volunteered with this great organization for several years. Whether it was tying flies, guiding, fundraising, or promoting their cause, he always found great pleasure in it.

It is a great honor for Barry to carry on his son’s legacy by combining his personal passion for running and affinity for fly fishing to support the mission of Project Healing Waters. Barry started running competitively in 1982 and has since run well over 50,000 miles and participated in over 30 marathons, including 10 Pikes Peak Marathons. Barry helped Jamie to find joy in competitive running which led to Jamie winning the State Mile Championship when he was 14 years old. While Jamie and Barry ran several races together their shared passion was found on the water chasing hogs. Together they have caught and released over 300 trout that were over 20 inches in length. Like his son, Barry is also a Veteran of the United States Army. Barry proudly served in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart and wishes to support his fellow veterans in their recovery through Project Healing Waters.
