Barry Neufeld, a Board of Education Trustee in Chilliwack, was democratically elected --and Re-Elected only 4 months ago-- has been respectfully speaking to very challenging issues regarding curriculum on behalf of his constituency.
Over a year ago, complaints on behalf of unnamed complainants were made under human rights legislation by two unions. Regardless of one’s beliefs of the merits on either side of the ongoing discussions regarding SOGI 1-2-3, these complaints appear to be made to undermine the democratic process, shut down valid public debate and to silence free speech.
Insurance assigned a lawyer for these human rights complaints. We are concerned this will not be sufficient, given that fundamental Canadian values are at stake. With this being the case, we believe Barry Neufeld will need as much support as he can get.
Help fight for the purity of the democratic process, free speech, parental rights, legitimate scientific inquiry and protection of vulnerable children.
TLDR: Barry Neufeld is a democratically elected official: He has a right to free speech. All proceeds will go directly to Barry’s legal fund.
Free speech, use it or lose it.
September Update: A panel review including Dr. Debrah Soh, Barbara Kay, Lindsay Shepherd, and Jared Brown, titled Bill C-16: A Year Later is linked below. Barry Neufeld's situation was discussed in connection with the challenges surrounding free speech in our country.
