Barry loved the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and hunting, as well as quiet times woodcarving in his workshop.   For our dad, hunting and fishing were part of his heritage, something that he passionately taught his sons and grandsons.    A portion of the funds  raised here in his name will be directed to the secondary school graduation awards given out by the Belleville Fish and Game Club to students going into post-secondary work in environmental or conservation studies.  Barry and our family have been associated with the Belleville Fish and Game Club for nearly 40 years, and this award was conceived when his wife Phyllis  was Club president in the 1990s.    Funds will also be directed to the Young Hunter Education Scholarship Program operated through the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters.  This program removes cost barriers for young men and women aged 12-17 wanting to earn their Hunter Safety Course so they too can become part of this heritage.  Finally, a donation will also be made to the OFAH Student Research Grants to university students researching fish and wildlife topics that are helping to improve resource management.
