Barry (Bear) Smith Memorial Fund

Barry (Bear) Smith, beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, friend, passed all too soon on the morning of January 10, 2018, while at home with his wife, Robin, daughter Bridget, and son-in-law Patrick. His passing was sudden, having suffered a series of heart attacks that he couldn't fight his way back from.

Living a simple life was Bear's way. His love of nature and the land is legendary. He was an outstanding artisan and craftsman, making "primitive" tools such as knives, arrowheads, tomahawks, etc., using his expert skills of flintknapping in the same fashion as native Americans used hundreds of years ago. He also enjoyed tanning and leatherworking.

Bear's passing has left a deep hole in the hearts of family and friends. It's also left his wife, Robin, with mounting bills on their already meager budget.  It's incredible, the amount things cost these days. With the funeral and memorial expenses, time off work to grieve & make arrangements, final medical bills, legal fees (yes, even the government's cut for paperwork etc), travel expenses, and untold other expenses that crop up as a result, it's overwhelming.

Your kind donations, in any amount, are deeply appreciated.

Thank you,

Derek Smith, brother of the beloved Bear.
