Barnie's Cork Surgery Fundraiser

Donation protected
This is Barnie the poor fella who has generated a bit of a pinch for his ever faithful care taker and companion, my sister Stephanie.   A couple of days ago, this big lovable trouble maker suddenly started to have trouble keeping food down and eventually was losing everything he tried to take in.   If it were whale vomit washing up on a shore in Thailand containing Ambergris, it would have been a fortune-maker but since it was just from this furry guy, it was pretty much worthless...and disgusting.   And it drove his faithful care taker to have to transport him to the vet.

The great vet team quickly discovered this rascal had a blockage that was going to require surgery.   Now this would be bad on its own, but this is the second time in two years.  For the same thing.   Well, Steph, as many of you would do, had no choice but to spend the money to get Barnie the help he needed, which rang up to exactly $4500.90.   So you can see, this isn't a request for money to get Steph a vacation (though she surely needs one).   I am only asking for help to cover this cost for Steph, because she has had quite the year already...and another financial hit is not what she needs.  This is the culprit causing so much expense.

So here comes the pull on your heart strings.   Steph is a fiercely independent and self sufficient woman who has no desire to ask anyone for help, let only the scourge of asking for money.   She makes a very average living in a very expensive town.  Denver is beautiful city, but it isn't the cheapest place to make a go of life.  And she rocks it all the time.  She has never asked for money and frequently gives disproportionately to help others and make great memories for family and friends.   She has fostered well over 50 furry dog souls and helped them find loving families.  Barnie is one of those that she loved through Parvo and helped him find a loving family within her already full house of fur family when he was hard to place.

In addition to fur family members, she has been our mother's dedicated and diligent care taker as she finds her way in elderly life and the many issues that comes along as well.   In recent years, she has helped Mom get help and heal from hip and back surgeries and even was there when Mom fell and nearly bled out from injuries, thankfully a neighbor heard her yells and came to her rescue.   Just this year, Steph has helped Mom through three hospital stays.   My siblings and I live outside the city and state in many cases, so it all falls on Steph frequently.

And we are not even going to talk about Covid...because that was a minor part of the year...so you get the idea...in a year without a world-wide pandemic, she would still find herself in a position where we could definitely help her out.

So I am asking on her behalf for us all to find the charity and sense of family and friendship that I know is still the best part of who we are as humans and just think about sending a gift of $50.00 to Steph.   If we can find 90 people willing to give up a little in order to help ALOT...the expense will be covered.  It will get paid either way, because she just has that strength of character and "I will get through this" attitude.   But wouldn't it be a great way to give back to Steph for all she does?  We know God has this admirable human being in His hands as well.  So maybe He is asking you to show His love and help out.  Or maybe you just really admire Steph and what she does for all living souls.   Whatever, motivates you, I hope you will take a minute and just make a little sacrifice and I know she will be forever grateful, if embarrassed.  So lets embarrass her greatly.  :)
