Barney Family Hurricane Relief

Hello, my name is Kristin Aulds. I am a friend of the Barney Family and I'd like to share their story with you.


This photo was taken on Saturday afternoon, before Patrick Barney had to be evacuated by boat. The threat of rain was still very real and the 1st floor was already under water. With both vehicles lost and no way to swim to safety, a volunteer boat was his only hope. Escaping to a local shelter, Patrick was safe, but the storm still progressed. Water continued to rise and sit for days. On Thursday, he returned home to find the water was still standing in some places and the ceiling to the 1st floor was non-existent, making the 2nd floor a hazard to walk on let alone live in. Patrick, his wife Debbie, Daughter Tiffany and their Dog Elvis are now in need of temporary housing and repairs to their home. FEMA will be tied up with all the damage to the gulf coast region and even when they do agree to help, the homeowners have to come up with a certain percentage of the damages. The Barney family are adamant givers of their time and resources to help the at-risk youth in our nation. They even volunteer as Santa, Mrs. Claus and an elf for a local nursing home.

They have given so much of themselves to a life of service and now they are in need of serious help themselves. I write this campaign knowing full well that they would never ask on heir own, but also knowing how deserving they are of this help. Please open your hearts and your wallets to this cause. all funds will go toward temporary housing, provide food, and begin the demolition process to rid their house of potential mold and mildew. All remaining funds will be used to rebuild.
