I have been selected to surf for Team England in the World Junior Championships this October.
This contest is probably the biggest contest I have ever had the opportunity to do, aside from this I've just competed nationally where I've won events such as the British Championships and more recently competed in Europe where I've placed 9th in the European Championships. If I did well in the World Junior Championships it would mean so much to me and my career, its such a big opportunity and I really want to do it!
I really didn't want to do this but am left with no alternative as I am struggling to fund it myself. I do have a job, and sponsors helping me out with equipment and some money, but along with other competitions abroad I can't fund this one. My dad recently passed away unexpectedly meaning my family cannot financially support me to do this, as our income has been effectively been halved. Also there is no support yet from Sport England despite surfing now being in the olympics.
The £2,000 pledged will pay for my flights, food and accomadation whilst I stay with Team England in Huntington Beach, California. I would really appreciate any donations, no matter how small they will help me get out there and compete with the worlds best.
