Barn Burnt Down: Horses Need Help

Donation protected
Cali’s barn, Cherokee Ranch, in Ventura County, burnt down last night. Bella does not own this Ranch but boards her horses there. Cali is safe, but some horses died in the fire. For those that survived, they’re going to have to figure out where to place the horses, get feed, get materials, and get care.

For those of you who know me well, I had to find a home for Cali this year. It was one of the hardest decisions in my life, and Bella stepped in and gave Cali a good home for me. (She’s taken in many horses during her life, and she told me that she never sells them because “horse people are crazy.” LOL)

She even risked her life last night to make sure her horses (and other horses) got out alived—despite having firefighters tell her to leave the horses behind as their stalls caught on fire. Nearly 30 horses died last night at the barn next to Bella, even though people were climbing fences to get to the horses.

During this holiday season, I hope we can come together and give (even a little bit) to them. It takes a village ...
