Barbara Yahnke - Funeral Expense

Donation protected

Updated: Thank you all for your generocity and love you have shown Matt, myself and our family. Your love for us and Mom has been overwhelmingly supportive and really is a true testament to the beautiful heart Mom had. Again, this is very hard for us to have to do but since planning the funeral I have come to the realization that my original goal will only put a dent in the true cost. That is why the goal amount has changed since I wrote Mom's story below. If you could keep sharing to get the story out there that would be greatly appreciated and would keep supporting this cause to help lay Mom down to rest. Thank you all so much.

First off, I do not like doing this. This is extremely tough. I’m only trying to honor Mom in a way that could do some justice for all she did for Matt and I. It’s not easy requesting this. And I’ve hesitated writing this because it’s hard emotionally for myself to be dependant on the ones around me.

Our Mom Barbara passed away suddenly Tuesday morning 11/28. It was completely unexpected. Mom had suffered for so long with so many back surgeries and a slew of auto immune diseases that left her home bound and in my (Jacob) care. Her pain was unbearable and I hope to never feel what she went through.

She lived to see her two grandchildren who meant the world to her and completed her life. She was so proud of them as well as Matt, my sister in law Amber, myself and my girlfriend Bekah.

After struggling for 15+ years on $900 a month disability she was unable to afford life insurance with constant hospital bills coming through. On top of that, the only help we are given from disability is $225 towards funeral expenses. We will be able to maybe buy a plant. It’s kind of a slap in her face, but I digress.

She gave everything she had into my brother and I. Per mom’s wishes and my brother and my request we would like to place her at rest at the Allouez Mausoleum next to her Mom, Dad, and older brother if possible.

My goal is $3000. This would be to cover her entombment at the mausoleum and other funeral expenses. It’s a lot to ask for but anything would be appreciated. This is not a finance we were expecting as nobody wants to think about it.

Thank you all for everything and thank you for reading.
