Bara's Eye Surgery

Donation protected
Hello everyone! My name is Malorie Lewis and I am creating this campaign to help with a dear friend of mine who lives in Palestine. His son has an eye condition known as Strabismus.

Strabismus — also known as hypertropia and crossed eyes — is misalignment of the eyes, causing one eye to deviate inward (esotropia) toward the nose, or outward (exotropia), while the other eye remains focused. Misalignment can occur once in a while in newborns, especially if they are tired, but they should outgrow it by three months. In children, uncorrected strabismus can lead to amblyopia, a condition in which the brain starts to ignore signals sent by the weaker, misaligned eye that leads to vision problems. In some children, strabismus is one of several manifestations of other medical conditions, including traumatic brain injury, retinopathy of prematurity, retinoblastoma, cerebral palsy and others.

The proceeds will go to my Friend Ahmad AlGhallasi, a Palestinian from Bethlehem. In addition, the campaign will cover the cost of the surgery, office consultations, and aftercare appointments.

A little about Bara! He is a happy go lucky nine year old. He is living with his mother in Nablus. He enjoys playing soccer and swimming, like most young boys! But, unfortunately, his eye condition limits his ability to do the things he loves.
He is also brilliant! His teachers always brag about his mathematic skills. Another unfortunate side effect of his condition is he is the recipient of bullying by his classmates. His condition, as seen in his photos, causes his eyes to misalign. As a result, his classmates make fun of him and socially shun him. This has caused him to dread going to school.

Here is a short letter from his father, Ahmad, detailing his experience and struggle to help his son recover.

As a father, I sacrifice myself for my son in everything I do, and it has become a dream for me to see him recover. Unfortunately, my 9-Year-old son was diagnosed with Strabismus at birth. I used to take him monthly to the doctor to check his eyes, and he’s been receiving treatment for a long time / since birth, but unfortunately, nothing newly changed/happened in his eyes; finally, the doctor decided to have an operation for him. Eye muscle surgery.
I'm creating this campaign for this little kid who needs an operation on his eyes and needs continuous treatment and monthly visits to the hospital. I am here to ask your help to raise money to pay for my son’s eye operation and hospital expenses.
I kindly appreciate your help
Thank you so much,

Ahmad AlGhallasi

Any assistance is heavily appreciated. Help this young boy get this surgery. It will literally change his entire worldview. If you are unable to donate, please share this campaign!
