Bangladesh Volunteer trip

Donation protected
As part of the BPM Disaster response Group, I will be heading to Bangladesh on November 27th to help those suffering in the Rohingya refugee crisis. We have already had two successful teams go over and they have been inundated with treating the sick and injured for machete wounds, gunshot wounds, burns, TB, children with life-threatening malnutrition and dehydration.
I need your help to get me there so I can continue to build on what has been achieved and give the Rohingya refugees some self-reliance by carrying out the tasks below.

This trip will have two tasks that we aim to achieve:
1) Continue to provide care to the sick and injured Rohingya population in Cox's Bazar District and,

2) Train a team of Rohingya health volunteers to act as a 'camp ambulance' (similar to our KRT project in Nepal) to connect patients with health services (Rohingya Volunteer Ambulance Network - R-VAN)

The refugee camps will be there for some time and there is just not the resources to keep sending in people to do these tasks if we can train some willing and able candidates in some basic first aid and give them the ability to get others to help when needed, many lives can be helped and saved.
The team is completely self-funded and rely on your help and generosity to get us there to provide the aid these people desperately need. Please give whatever you can. And pass this on to anyone who you think might be able to help. Share it on your facebook - send it to your email list.

For more information please visit the Backpacker Medics website or Facebook page.
In the name of total transparency, I would like to make the following very clear:

By supporting me here you are helping to fund my passage to Bangladesh (ie: the fundraising is to cover the costs of airfares and travel to deployment location).
Any funds raised over-and-above the costs of my airfares and travel to deployment location will be donated directly to Backpacker Medics.
I will keep detailed receipts and collate a small report which details the use of funds. This will be submitted to Backpacker Medics on my return.
Please note that Backpacker Medics is an organization that has no paid positions and that all people involved in BPM are self-funded.
