Banee's fight with B-cell Leukemia at SickKids

Donation protected
Banee is 4 yrs old and is our only child. She is a visitor to Canada and arrived at Toronto YYZ along with her mom during first week of November, 2019 to visit her dad. It was a family reunion visit, perhaps the longest she has ever stayed away from her father.

I am a Permanent Resident in Canada am still searching for a decent paying full-time job. It is difficult to get the first break. The plan was that I would first come to Canada and settle things so that it would be easy for family to join in later. Banee however missed me dearly, so came to Canada to meet me (Visitor visa). I was hoping that I could get a job and sponsor my family.

After about a fortnight of her arrival, Banee woke up early morning with very high fever. We visited our local Hospital only to be referred to Children's Hospital in Toronto. It really cut the ground under our feet when the blood tests indicated that she had high chances of having Leukemia cells. Doctors conducted Bone Marrow and Lumbar Puncture procedures to confirm the findings that Banee has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

We did have travel insurance for Banee, however it falls way short in comparison to funds required to fight Leukemia. Banee's treatment is already underway since last week of November, 2019 and will take approx 27 months to complete. Banee is admitted at SickKids Hospital and doctors have already begun first phase of Chemotherapy treatment.

Chemo therapy is a very painful process and it drains energy out of the patient. Banee's immunity is going down each passing day and we have to take extra precautions in order to keep her surroundings clean and safe. Leave aside the possibility for her to travel out of the city. I, being a new immigrant in Canada, have a few savings (INR converted to CAD, value reduced), however they do not allow me to provide support for her treatment fully and the bills keep adding up. But I do hope that this can be achieved with support from the community. I will continue my search for a decent paying job so that I can contribute to my child's good health in all my capacities. And at the same I shall start application to sponsor my wife and child so that they may get PR status asap and get covered under OHIP (which still has 90 days blackout waiting period after PR).

We would be grateful if you could help us . . . Any amount, large or small, will assist in bringing good health back to our daughter. Any funds raised through this campaign will entirely be used for Banee's hospital treatment along with arranging logistics for hospital visits. Along with donations, we also seek blessings, wishes and prayers in helping Banee navigate her way through this painful treatment. Your help will ensure that she emerges a healthy child and brings back happiness in our lives.
