Operation Bandana New Mexico

Donation protected

What started as a movement to make face masks for frontline workers - hospitals, doctors, nurses and other medical workers, first responders, assisted living/long term facilities, and all essential personnel putting their lives at risk to take care of the rest of us has turned into so much more. One of our goals is to put a mask on individuals in situations where social distancing is not possible, such as homeless shelters, the Navajo Nation, and Pueblos. Nearly 50,000 masks have already been donated across New Mexico. All masks are given away FOR FREE funded only by the donations of fabric, talent and materials.

We’re now utilizing the National Guard to deliver not only our masks, but also real medical masks, face shields, decontamination kits, food, water and other essential items to the Navajo Nation. Help us purchase more goods to deliver by donating to this cause. We are also now building decontamination kits to deliver to homes on the Navajo Nation without running water and where basic sanitation is a great challenge. These will be delivered to these homes where there is a COVID positive family member to help limit or stop transmission of the virus among other people in those home. Our goal is to build 1000 kits that will include disposable gowns, masks, gloves, head coverings, as well as Clorox wipes, baby wipes, trash bags and face shields.
