Baltimore's 'Adopt-a-Bartender' Emergency Fund

Donation protected
While COVID-19 has effected nearly every human on the planet in different ways, one thing is for sure, it has disrupted not only our daily lives, but our financial well being. For those of us whom are fortunate enough to have savings or planned for these uncertain times, now is your opportunity to pay it forward.

In Maryland, while schools and businesses were planning for weeks of shut down yet continuing employment compensation and benefits, it wasn't but a half-day's notice that was given for an indefinite suspension of operation for the food and beverage industry as a whole.

These employees are often young individuals or families, working to support themselves and the ones they love, often supporting others with their wages and earnings on nearly a daily basis. While there will be major efforts to support those in need, these changes will come in time, and the daily loses for this laboforce could result in catastrophe before any "support" will be in place.

Why we're here:

We started this fund to create access and support for workers in need because of this crisis and especially those that are not being compensated otherwise. The daily loss of income may be surmountable for some, but it could be the difference of putting food on the table for their family for others. Our goal is to support and offer an additional "tip" for our community of servers/bartenders/cooks/support staff while they weather this global pandemic.

In order to distribute the funds, we've created a short survey to help us prioritize those in our community most at-risk and in need. All information shared remains confidential. Our aim is to provide everyone who applies with emergency funds, but will prioritize based on circumstance. If you or someone you know are in need, please go through the survey link HERE to respond.

It's not about the story, it's about the outcome.

Let us make this an opportunity to engage our community, creating a structure to aid those in need, so we can come through this pandemic stronger, and with more grace than ever before.
