100km Run - for Underprivileged Children & Women

Hello Friends thank you for taking the time to visit my go fund me page 

I know your time is valuable. I will give you a very quick intro into why I have set up this gofundme page and what can be achieved with your support.

I am doing my bit to help break the cycle of poverty and inspire positive change in the lives of vulnerable children & women by supporting the great work of Balo international an NGO based in Calcutta India. Balo Children Ireland is a branch of Balo Italy and is headed up by a very inspirational past teacher of mine in secondary school / high school by the name of Liam Ashe.

Balo Ireland's Mission and one that resonates with my values of contribution to others is: ‘’To empower vulnerable children and women by providing access to quality education, good nutrition, and healthcare in a nurturing environment’’  
The Balo school in Howrah, Calcutta uses English as the medium of instruction. Proficiency in English is a passport to a better life, Balo has 230 children on their rolls and has now a full-time staff of 12 teachers in Howrah and three cooks.

Balo provides a daily nutritious lunch in our school to all 230 children and their teachers, Balo runs a homework club in the afternoons as our children are first generation learners as their parents are illiterate. Without education from Balo, these children would remain illiterate and would have very limited life prospects. 
Girls would be married off as teenagers and boys would be confined to heavy and backbreaking work as casual labourers.

I plan to be in a position to raise AUS $10,000 + to help with Balo Ireland's future aspirations by Running 100KM in the Ultra Trail Australian between May 16 & 18 2019.
