Ballet Dancer Skye Poulin's Recovery

Skye Poulin

Skye is a highly disciplined athlete and young college student. Skye shares her life’s adventures with her younger brother and single parent father. She grew up studying gymnastics but soon found her love for dance. Skye has trained for years with Arts’ Triumphant of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia and attended Summer programs in Nashville, Tennessee’s Nashville Ballet. Skye just recently recovered from a surgery to repair a knee injury. She followed her doctors’ instructions and had a full recovery. Skye was excited to get back to the dance studio. She was just finding her feet again when tragedy struck. On her way home from dance rehearsal at Inwood Dance Company, Skye was involved in a devastating accident on Interstate 81 involving a tractor trailer. Skye is so grateful to be alive.

Skye was scheduled to dance with the Inwood Dance Company at Shepard’s Town University April 30th. Skye was pursuing her dance career with a recent audition with Alonzo King Lines Ballet training program in San Francisco, California. On April 6th Skye’s focus quickly changed to recovering from the extensive injuries she sustained from the accident.

Skye is early in her recovery but a determined athlete. Skye’s world had been turned upside down in a few brief seconds. Although she is grateful to be alive, she will be immobile for some time to allow her broken bones a chance to heal. The excellent medical teams at Fairfax Hospital (INOVA) are caring for Skye. They have performed surgeries to start the healing of her two broken legs.

All proceeds donated to Skye will go towards her medical bills, recovery, transport (once released from the hospital), needed accommodation and to help Skye put her life back together. Knowing Skye and her determination, it will amaze everyone.
