Balinese Family Devastated By Corona

Nyoman, and his family have lost everything due to the Corona virus limiting travel to the island of Bali. The local communities rely on tourism for their livelihood. 

Nyoman was an old friend who once hosted me at his house after I was stuck in a rain storm in the far north of Bali. His generosity and hospitality was unquestionable, and he helped me out when I was in a difficult situation.

Now Nyoman and his family are in a difficult situation...

When Nyoman reached out to me last month, he had sold his van that he used to sell veggies out of so that he could pay for his sons medical bills. His electricity had been shut off, and he was down to a few bananas for food.

I've sent him a small donation of $100CAD. But that mostly went to electricity being turned back on, and a small amount of food.

In order for Nyoman to become self sustainable, he needs a small investment to buy back a van and start up his veggie business. 

Everyone is feeling the effects of this pandemic, but no one more than the people who rely on tourism to feed their families.
