Bako’s surgery

On December 23rd Kelcy Sanders was in a car accident just west of Celilo. On impact her young German Shepherd got scared and jumped out of the shattered window. The community of The Dalles and surrounding areas have helped look for her pup. 2 weeks after the accident Kelcy came back to The Dalles to look one final time for Bako. She had been coming here once or twice a week for the 3 weeks looking for Bako. And while she could not be here we looked too. On January 6th we were up on the bluffs above Celilo when Kelcy got a phone call from Wasco County Sheriff that Bako has been spotted and they were on the way to get him. Luckily we were only a few minutes away too. She then got a call saying they had him in her vehicle. When we got to Celilo area the deputy took Kelcy to his rig and opened the door and reunited pup and human. Bako sniffed her and could not contain himself. She then took him to a local vet to have him okayed for the ride home. Unfortunately Bako had broken his femur. Bako now needs surgery. Low estimate is $3700. Anything helps. Bako and Kelcy have been through enough to have to worry about this now. Please help Bako recover from his injuries and be back home with his human.
