The Tanzania Community in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, together with our brother Benjamin (Ben) Bakirane, as well as the Borland family are mourning the loss of Eliza Bakirane (age 11), who passed tragically following a fatal car accident on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

While travelling with their mother, Maria Borland to Silver Dollar, Branson, Missouri (MO) on early Tuesday morning, September 18, 2018 Eliza together with her siblings Gabby (age 17), Adele (age 16), Reece (age 16), Lily (age 14) and Isaac (age 14) were involved in a tragic car accident near Springfield Missouri. Tragically, Eliza was pronounced dead at the scene.

Isaac and Reece received initial treatment in Springfield before being airlifted to St Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri for further, more-advanced care. Isaac and Reece, are still receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Each of them have had multiple major surgeries and their condition remains critical. Subsequent to the accident Isaac suffered life-threatening head and internal injuries, as well as a series of broken bones;  his prognosis remains uncertain. Reece sustained multiple significant injuries. Both boys have many surgeries ahead of them.

Maria (mother) and Gabby were treated for minor injuries and were released from hospital. Adele and Lily received treatment and surgery in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

We please ask you all to behold the family in your prayers  as they are grieving for the loss of young Eliza; pray for Eliza to RIP. In addition, we call for a special prayer for Isaac and Reece who are still in a critical condition in the ICU, as well as for Adele’s and Lily’s quick and full recovery. In your prayers please remember the families of Benjamin Bakirane, Maria and Steve Borland,   and Sarah Borland as they are going through this very difficult time.

We also kindly ask all friends, families and any good Samaritans for your help to support these families by making any amount of donation (No donation is too small!) to the funeral cost, medical bills, and other unavoidable expenses such as lodging, food, transportation, gas, household bills etc. (that may arise due to needed time off work).

The families involved have a long road ahead of them, especially the family members who survived the accident as well as their immediate families. Therefore your donation will go a long way in supporting the families by reducing the burden of thinking about costs and bills, in order for them to fully focus in the recovery and care of their beloved ones.

The Tanzania Community in Lincoln and Omaha on behalf of our brother Ben Bakirane we would like to thank you in advance for your kind support. Your support is greatly appreciated.

God Bless You, and your families.

Tunashukuru. Mungu Awabariki. Asanteni Sana.
