Service Dog, Baker - Emergency Surgery
Hi, my name is Erica Way. My 11-year-old golden retriever, Baker, collapsed just after arriving at one of his favorite walking trails. I rushed him to Tufts where he underwent a procedure to drain the blood from around his heart and also remove a large mass that was found at the time of the emergency procedure. He is receiving excellent care and is doing remarkably well. Unfortunately, the bill so far is $5,000 and climbing. His doctors estimate that he will be in the hospital for a few more days.
Baker has been my service dog for just over 9 years and has been by my side almost every minute of that time. He’s been to every high school and college class with me, and was the first dog to ever graduate Westfield State University. He even had a starring role in Animal Planet’s first season of Dogs 101.
Thoughts, prayers, and any contribution would be very helpful and most greatly appreciated.
