Bahamas Trip/Repairs

I am creating this Go Fund Me to invite you to participate with me in a very exciting and challenging trip this summer. Can you imagine a land only 50 miles off the coast of the United States where there is little running water, living conditions are hazardous to one’s health, and children spend the majority of their life hungry and alone? From July 14th through the 21st, I will be traveling to Freeport, Grand Bahama, with my friends from the Senior High Youth Group to work with Raoul and Karen Armbrister of Karazim Ministries.
I know what you are thinking, "The Bahamas for a mission trip? That sounds like a vacation!" But once you leave the beautifully manicures beaches and luxury hotels, the majority of the island transforms into a third-world nation with third-world needs.
The trip will focus on the local Bahamian culture in an area of the world that is often forgotten and overlooked in worldwide missionary endeavors. The purpose of our trip is fourfold:
First, we will be allowing God to work in our lives through the person enrichment that comes from this type of mission trip.
Second, this Prayer Journey will help us focus our individual prayers by traveling to a foreign land and praying ‘on-site with insight.”
Third, we will be working not only as a missionary team, but a construction team as well. It is our vision to complete construction on houses that were damaged or destroyed by the many hurricanes over the past few years.
Fourth, we will encourage local Christians in the Caribbean. Hopefully, our presence will bolster their spirits and support their work.
I need to raise $1,800 for myself to go on the trip but I am making me my goal $3,000 because recently they lost their ministry bus and need to replace parts that total $5,000. I felt called to help raise up some of that price so that we can continue to bless their ministry because without the bus, it is almost impossible for them to run the ministry effectively.
I am excited about the opportunity and experience that lie ahead. I hope you see the value in what we will accomplish. However, a trip like this requires support from a number of people. Financial support is welcome to not only offset our travel expenses, but to also purchase the construction materials necessary to complete our work. But most importantly, we need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God’s leading in ministry on the island.
If you would like to be part of this mission and contribute financially, please feel free to donate whatever God has placed on your heart. Even if it isn't financially please consider donating prayerfully for the trip, for me to meet my goal, and for the people of the Bahamas who need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ!
