"Bahama" needs help in St Croix, VI

Please help and donate what you can to assist our family member and friend, Derrick “Bahama” Venzen in his recovery from Hurricane Maria in St. Croix, USVI. As you may know by now, Hurricanes have devastated St. Thomas and St. John earlier. Derrick’s living quarters and the job work site collapsed during the Hurricane Maria.
If you know Derrick “Bahama”, you know he is a native of St. Thomas, USVI. He is well known in the Virgin Islands for his work in the counseling field with juveniles, families, within the homeless population and the housing community. Derrick is a graduate of Lane College and a recent graduate of Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN with a Masters in Civic Leadership. Most recently, he worked in Nashville, TN as a Case Manager for the Salvation Army Bootstrap Program. Derrick got the opportunity to use his knowledge as Assistant Project Director in St. Croix, VI at My Brother’s Workshop. Everything was going fine until two Category 5 hurricanes happened.
Derrick has lost all of his belongings and is now homeless. Cellphone use is intermittent with no electricity or internet service. It’s not like Derrick to ask for help. He is now in St. Thomas for shelter until he can secure other housing on St. Croix. As family, I’m asking for assistance on his behalf in raising $6,000 to secure immediate housing, food, and aid in covering monthly bills.
