Here's my story: After my film production box went out of business due to the coronavirus pandemic, I decided to continue a project I’d abandoned months prior: to re-create the baguettes I used to eat as a kid in France. In Paris, you smell the boulangerie on your way to school in the morning. The baguettes were crunchy with a lot of air inside. I wanted to re-create that feeling. So I set out, at home in my small West Village apartment in Manhattan, to find my perfect baguette recipe. Eventually, I ended up with a batch that brought me right back to my childhood. I made more and more of my baguettes, and shared my creations on Facebook, Instagram, and NextDoor. Soon enough, I was getting calls from my neighbors to whom I started hand delivering my baguettes fresh from the oven. The feedback was amazing! What had originally started as passion project was becoming a flourishing small business, and I couldn’t be happier with the smiles I was bringing to my neighbors as well as the quality I was bringing to their plates.
