This initiative was launched by a group of medical students from the University of Ottawa to assist seniors and vulnerable populations in the Ottawa community with groceries. Our services include grocery-runs, pick-ups for online orders and delivery. This is a volunteer initiative to bridge the gap of accessibility, while promoting health and safety of our community.
Why we need monetary support
We do not charge any service or delivery fee to our customers.
However, since we are a student-run initiative, we would appreciate monetary support in the form of donations from the community to meet the following needs:
- Reimburse volunteer drivers for gas
- Have an emergency fund in case customers don't pay us for their groceries, and we are unable to return them to the store
- Recruit new volunteers through Volunteer Ottawa (requires an annual fee of $175)
All additional donations will be donated to Canadian COVID-19 Healthcare and Hospital Relief funds and Food Banks Canada once we stop offering our service.

Community members may opt for two options through an online google form or phone:
- They place an online order at a grocery store, we retrieve the order and deliver to their home.
- They give us a list of groceries that we shop for, send them the total cost, and then deliver to their home.
This delivery model involves a no-contact method for community members. For payment, we take either e-transfers prior to delivering or cash in clear Ziplock bags left outside the door. For delivery, we leave groceries at the door without contact. The delivery itself and the shopping is free, however community members would still have to pay the cost of their groceries themselves.
