Hi friends!

I am donating a kidney in October in what is called the "Living Donor Paired Exchange Program". I met 6-year-old Aidyn over a year ago while campaigning for organ donation with "because i can project". When I discovered that I was not a direct match for Aidyn, I signed up for the Exchange program with him. This means that I will donate to a stranger, and in a chain-like process he will, in-turn, receive a kidney from a stranger.

We live in an incredible country where our medicinal costs and some travel costs are covered. However, I am unexpectedly having to travel to Ontario for the surgery (we live in BC). This means that to have my loved ones come with me, and to allow for my husband to take time off of work to be there, we will be short quite a bit of money. I am beyond excited to donate my kidney, and give Aidyn the life he deserves, but to be honest, the finances are a burden on our family - and creating nervousness and stress I'd rather eliminate, if possible.

The loss of work and travel costs for us will be a minimum of $5000, so that is what I am hoping to raise. Thank you for your time and consideration of this plight - I really appreciate it!

Please know that I am donating a kidney whether the money comes in or not. Aidyn already has my heart, so he's getting a kidney, too!
