Back yard makeover for Bryan

Donation protected

My 7 year old son Joseph has a 7 year old friend named Bryan who has been fighting Leukemia for over a year.  His prognosis is sadly not good.  His family and friends, including a sister are spending quality time together and having as many smiles, laughs and good times as they can.  It is summer and everyone likes to spend time out of doors. Bryan needs to avoid crowds and can’t swim due to health, so his choices are limited at times to their home.  Which he loves, but again, it’s summer.

This is where you come in:

They need a revamp of their damp  back yard in Woodlawn, Dartmouth. They had a French drain recently installed and a large shade tree removed, so it will dry out.  In the meantime what is left is extremely uneven and need of re sodding for immediate enjoyment.  Bryan’s Dad has recently (today) mentioned while we there on a play date that his wish is to put a fire pit where the stump is.  He envisions it made from stone. Eventually, get some furniture so they could maybe sit outside on warm evenings. He continued to say, but working back here is not my priority right now.  That’s where this idea was born.  We want to do this for them.

Again, this is where you come in!!
We are accepting any financial donations towards this project for things we dont recieve by way of donation on the list below.  Anything will help.

On Wednesday July 29, 2015 , yes 4 days from now -  I am looking for help, donations, connections, businesses and anybody that can help with the following:

1 tandem truck load of soil to spread and level back yard.

2 pallets sod.

Stone/ material and knowledgeable person to build fire pit.

Carpenter with tools to build seating area, maybe cool bench for kids.

Carpenter to build ladder to treehouse.  Current one is not durable.

Patio furniture or fire pit furniture.  Gently used or cash donations to purchase new would be greatly appreciated.  If it needs to be picked up, that’s no problem.

People, wheelbarrows and shovels to hump soil from driveway to back yard.

People to spread and level back yard.  I have a gas tamper to level properly.

Any cool garden ideas, maybe a fairy garden for brother and sister? Tire swing, family swing, hammock, rock garden?

 I don’t know ….

Again, this is where you come in!!  Any suggestions are welcome and lots of help is needed.

Labourers to help clear small wooded area where kids play and take to street to large dump trailer to take all debris to dump

I will make sure there is plenty of water and bbq lunch will be provided.  Kids are welcome to help out.

You can come for an hour, two or the whole day. They will probably be back after supper.

I know it sounds like a huge endeavour, but…. I know we can pull this together. My hope is that with the power of this wonder called social media and Go Fund Me we can update and make their backyard living space a little more liveable.

Please share here on FB or email with anyone you know who might be able to help.  If you would like to participate on Wednesday , msg me on fb and I can further you details.  They don't suggest I put my contacts in this text.  Thanks for the heads up Gofundme.

Thanks,
Leanne

ps - don't forget it's a secret
