Back the Blue

On September 7th, we got the call that no family member wants to get. My brother Victor, a 12 year veteran with the Sacramento Police Department, had been shot by a suspect wanted for a double homicide.

With such a strong will, good doctors, prayer chains going around for him- and some undoubtedly good luck, he made it out ok, but there is still the road to recovery.

My brother is a good man, and wakes up everyday knowing that he does a job that he risks his life for, and that one action could forever change the make up of our family. He does it with honor, and with pride.

As I sit here writing this, I think of how grateful I am to be setting this up for the long road to recovery- that will take several months away from him. I'm grateful I'm not having to help make funeral arrangements.

It would help his family, and boost his morale, to know he had a purpose - and there was an entire community that has his back and supports what he does every day.

We hope that money raised can help ease his road to recovery and lighten the financial burden such a senseless act of disregard for life, has caused.
